*The SBC connects Voice Trunks and the PSTN provider to the Microsoft Phone System via Direct Routing. The SBC can also connect to third-party telephony entities, such as PBXs, Analog Telephony Adapters, and so on.   The SBC can either be a physical device, virtual appliance deployed in customer’s private cloud or virtual appliance deployed in Azure.
